Description of Program Options

Traditional: Open to campers in rising grades 2-12. This option gives campers the opportunity to enjoy unique experiences, develop new skills, enjoy their natural surroundings and make lasting friendships. Traditional campers will be able to choose their morning activities from the options listed at the top of this page.

Gypsy: One-week program in which campers will be able to work towards earning their Gypsy Honor (a national outdoor living honor of the Camp Fire program). This specialty camp will include a multi-night camping trip.

Voyager: Two-week program in which campers will be able to work towards earning their Voyager Honor (the highest national outdoor living honor of the Camp Fire program). This specialty camp will include a multi-night backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail to be planned and led by the campers themselves and supervised by staff. For campers who wish to learn leadership skills as well as progress in their outdoor living experience.

Horseback: One-week program that focuses on riding skills and the principles of caring for and partnering with a horse. Campers spend the day learning all aspects of horsemanship from horse and barn maintenance to developing and perfecting handling and riding skills. Evenings will be spent enjoying camp-wide activities.

NEW! Combo Camps: Two-week program in which one week is spent in a specialty program (either Horseback or Gypsy) and the second week in our traditional program. For campers who want the best of both worlds.

Changeover: For campers interested in staying more than one session, we offer the option of staying for the weekend in between sessions. Changeover is an additional $75 and is available between sessions 1-2, 3-4 and 6-7.

Counselor-in-Training Program

A four week Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is offered for rising 11th and 12th graders. The focus is on group leadership skills including group organization, motivation, program planning, team building, and conflict resolution. CITs will have the opportunity both to spend time in activities together and learn how to be effective camp counselors by working with younger campers.

First year CITs must complete the normal camper registration process. Entrance into the 2nd year CIT program is subject to approval by the director upon review of a completed 2nd Year CIT application.
