WoHeLo and Welcome to Camp Toccoa
Uniquely situated on 176 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northeast Georgia, Camp Toccoa is a traditional summer camp boasting forested trails, waterfalls, a lake, high and low ropes courses, swimming pool, an environmental education center, dining hall, the historic Tasnena lodge, and a state-of-the-art riding stable.
Our coed programs for young people entering grades 1 to 12 offer a variety of fun and challenging activities. Our energetic staff, many of whom were campers themselves, are dedicated to helping campers learn about themselves and the natural world around them.
Campers choose their morning activities. Some options include:
- Archery
- Canoeing
- Horseback Riding
- Arts & Crafts
- Swimming
- Low Ropes
- Nature
- Wilderness Skills
- Sports & Games
- Drama
Evening activities include theme nights, dances, talent shows, pool parties, cookouts and camp outs. Every camper will have the opportunity to cook a meal over an open fire and sleep under the stars (weather permitting). Each session ends with a traditional Council Fire.
Adventure Camp
For older campers who who want to take it to the next level, our Adventure Camp is perfect! Campers will challenge themselves on our High and Low Ropes Courses, practice living and cooking outdoors, and learn to work together as a team. This camp is available during specific weeks in four themes:
High Adventure: An exciting combination of indoor and outdoor climbing, campers will have a blast while learning all the fundamental skills of rock climbing.
Carolina Quest: Spend a few days at camp and then set off for the adventure of a lifetime. A combination of backpacking, rock climbing and whitewater rafting, this camp will teach campers the skills needed to see the best of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Treasure Trekkers: Think you can't mix computers and camping? Think again! Campers learn the art of "Geo-caching" by using traditional map and compass as well as GPS navigation to find "treasures" across northeast Georgia.
Survivor Challenge: How do you start a fire with two sticks? Campers learn this and other skills necessary for outdoor survival.
